Signs You Need to Schedule an Appointment with Lake Los Angeles, CA Roofers
As the first line of defense against the elements, your roof shields everything inside your Los Angeles County home – as well as you and your family – from severe temperatures, high winds, inclement weather, and the powerful UV rays of the sun.
In short, the roof is one of the most important components of your house, and in order to ensure that it does the all-important job it’s supposed to do, it needs to be in tip-top condition; however, given the extreme climate it’s exposed to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, a roof is bound to sustain wear and tear and experience damage at one point or another. Constant exposure to extreme conditions, subpar materials, poor-quality installation, and age are just some of the factors that can lead to roof damage.
Whether the result of the weather, natural degradation, faulty installation, or age, as soon as you detect an issue with your Los Angeles County roof, you need to call in Lake Los Angeles, CA roofers. But how do you know when your roof needs to be repaired or replaced? Here’s a look at some key signs that indicate it’s time to start looking for “roofers near me”.
Missing Shingles, Tiles, or Sections
Are any of the shingles, tiles, or metal roofing sections missing from your roof? If so, you need to get in touch with a Los Angeles County roofer near you for your commercial roofing needs ASAP. Nearby tree limbs or high winds can loosen and remove a single shingle or complete sections of a roof.
When parts of the upper-most layer of a roof are missing, the underlayment will be exposed to moisture damage, and once water damages the underlayment, it can make its way into the attic and even leak through the ceiling of your California home. Water damage can pose serious problems; not only can it increase the risk of mold growth, but it can also damage the structural integrity of your entire house.
At the first sign of missing shingles, tiles, or sections, calling in Lake Los Angeles, CA roofers is an absolute must. Professional roofers will make the repairs that are necessary, thus reducing the risk of more extensive damage and costlier repairs.
Have you noticed slow drips or gushing leaks pouring through your ceiling? If so, that’s a clear sign that you have an active leak and it needs to be fixed right away, but moisture damage isn’t always so obvious. Look up at your ceiling and the upper reaches of your walls. Do you see discolored spots those spots are a sign of a slow drip.
As damp building materials dry out, dirt in the environment can accumulate on the wet spots, leaving behind brownish or yellowish stains. Whether you’re positive your roof is leaking or you suspect it is, schedule an appointment with a Los Angeles County roofer near you. Experienced Lake Los Angeles, CA roofers will conduct a thorough investigation to identify the source of the leak and will make the repairs that are necessary to correct the problem.
If your roof is composed of asphalt shingles, the exterior of the shingles are coated with granules. Those granules protect the shingles, the rest of your roof – and your entire California home from extreme conditions. Some degree of granule shedding is expected as a part of normal deterioration; however, excessive granule loss is a sign of trouble.
If you notice a large accumulation of granules in the gutters or completely “bald” patches on your shingles, for example, that’s an indication that your roof is nearing the end of its life. A reputable roofer near you will conduct a thorough inspection of the structure to determine the extent of the problem, and whether replacing a few problematic shingles or a complete roof replacement is necessary.
When the sun’s out, pay a visit to your attic or crawl space and inspect the roof. Do you see light shining through anywhere? If so, you have a problem, and it needs to be addressed. Constant exposure to harsh UV rays, wind, rain, and extreme temperatures have likely weakened and thinned out part or all of the roof, and when that happens, it’s only a matter of time before more serious issues arise.
water intrusion, for example if you detect light shining through your roof, call a roofer near you right away. A licensed and experienced Lake Los Angeles, CA roofer will assess all components of the structure to pinpoint the root cause of the problem and will make the repairs that are necessary to correct it.
While standing on the edge of your property, take a look at the roofline of your California house. Does it look like any part of the roof is sagging if so, don’t delay; get in touch with a Los Angeles County roofer near you. Sagging can occur for a number of reasons, such as water damage, subpar materials, poor installation, ground settling, structural issues, or simply age.
Whatever the cause, if your roof is sagging, having a professional Lake Los Angeles roofer assess the structure ASAP is imperative. Ignoring the problem will only make matters worse, as there’s a serious risk that the entire roof could collapse.

Lake Los Angeles is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 12,328 at the 2010 census, up from 11,523 at the 2000 census. It is located 17 miles (27 km) east of Palmdale’s Civic Center. According to the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance report of 2009, the Palmdale / Lancaster urban area has a population of 483,998, which Lake Los Angeles is a part of.
The region was once called Los Angeles Buttes, since they were the only ones in the northern part of the county. The eponymous lakes (one dedicated to fishing and one dedicated to swimming and boating) have dried up. The fishing lake was stocked with trout, bass and catfish. In 1967, during the 1960s land speculation boom in the Antelope Valley, land developers bought 4,000 acres (16 km2) in the region, subdivided it into 4,465 lots, and artificially refilled the natural lake and named it Lake Los Angeles as an enticement to land buyers. Advertisements showed a water skier on the lake (which was probably no more than 5 feet deep) and a showcase home on the top of the nearby hill, giving the impression of a resort town. There was a country club and a high-end restaurant that over looked the large recreational lake. There was also a small store/bar and grill. Streets were named Biglake Avenue, Lakespring Avenue and Longmeadow Avenue to draw attention away from the fact that the town was in fact a barren desert used for filming westerns. The lake was left to evaporate in the early 1980s after the initial developers sold their interests. Much of the land was sold to buyers who never visited the area. There are efforts to refill the lake, but the main obstacle has been funding.
The film history of the region dates back to 1938. Numerous movies, serials, commercials and television series were filmed in Lake Los Angeles for decades. Filmed segments and stock footage of ‘Bonanza’ episodes made at the region include ‘The Mission’, ‘Gallagher’s Sons’, ‘Twilight Town’, ‘Big Shadow on the Land’, ‘The Deed and the Dilemma’, ‘The Oath’, ‘Second Chance’ and ‘Meena.’ Lake Los Angeles has two filming locations named ‘Four Aces Movie Location’ (located on the northwest corner of 145th Street East and Avenue Q) and ‘Club Ed’ (located east of 150th Street East between Avenue N and Avenue K). Both locations and surrounding areas have been used for television series, feature films, music videos, and television commercials.
