6 Signs You Should Schedule a Repair with Los Angeles County Metal Roofers
Once primarily reserved for commercial properties, metal has become one of the preferred roofing materials among Los Angeles County residents. At Eba Roofing, our Beverly Hills, CA roofers have seen a large increase in requests for residential metal roofing, and for good reason; metal roofs are exceptionally durable, eco-friendly, energy-efficient, fire-resistant, cost-effective, and easy to maintain – all factors that are exceptionally important to CA homeowners.
Despite all of the benefits, like any other type of roofing material, metal roofs are subject to wear and tear, can sustain damage, and do need to be properly maintained. Constant exposure to extreme conditions, such as high winds, heavy rains, fires, tree limbs, and debris, can weaken or damage a roof that is constructed of metal. To avoid the risks that are associated with such damages, if you have a metal roof, inspecting it on a regular basis is strongly encouraged.
As you assess your Beverly Hills, CA roof, if you notice any of the following, scheduling a repair with experienced metal roofers is definitely in your best interest.
While the chances that a properly installed metal roof that’s constructed of high-quality materials will experience blow-off are slim, they can happen. Sudden bursts of strong winds or prolonged periods of high, sustained winds (like the Santa Ana winds) can loosen seams and blow-off sections of a metal roof.
If you notice any sections of your roof are missing, get in touch with a licensed roofer that specializes in metal roofs as soon as possible. Missing sections can increase the risk of more extensive damage, such as leaks. Experienced, reputable Beverly Hills, CA roofers will be able to address the problem and reduce the risk of more serious problems and costlier repairs.
Tears and Punctures
Metal roofs are highly regarded for their durability, which is one of the many reasons why so many Los Angeles County homeowners are opting for metal over more traditional shingle or tile roofing. That said, however, they can experience damages. Nearby tree limbs can brush against the structure, or animals can walk along and scratch at it, for instance, which can result in tears and punctures. If you notice or suspect these types of damages, get in touch with a licensed California roofer right away. Roofing contractors will make the necessary repairs, restoring the durability of the structure and ensuring the protection of your Beverly Hills home roofing system.
Rust and Corrosion
When it was initially installed, a non-corrosive agent should have been applied to your metal roof to seal and protect it from moisture damage. That sealant, however, may have been applied incorrectly, or it may have been damaged by constant exposure to extreme conditions; either way, the metal can rust or corrode. If you see even the smallest amount of corrosion or rust, having a professionally trained and experienced metal roofer assess the structure and make the necessary repairs as soon as possible is an absolute must.
As mentioned, sealants are applied to the seams and edges of a metal roof, and these sealants provide an additional layer of protection against moisture damage. Though high-quality, expertly installed metal roofs can last upwards of 100 years, the sealants that are applied usually last for about 20 years; furthermore, severe weather can increase the rate at which sealants will deteriorate. If the age of your roof is approaching or has exceeded 20 years, you should arrange to have professional metal roofers replace the sealant.
As temperatures fluctuate and different elements make contact with your roof, the metal will expand and contract. The movement can loosen the screws that secure the panels or shingles in place, which in turn can loosen the seams. If the seams are loose, moisture can seep through and cause a leak. Luckily, fixing this problem is relatively quick and simple, as long as the loose screws and seams are quickly identified and addressed.
Paint not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of your Los Angeles County home, but it also provides an extra layer of protection against moisture damage. Paint can be damaged by heavy rain, hail, tree limbs, and falling debris, which can lead to chipping, denting, scraping, and thinning. In addition to being unsightly, damaged paint can ultimately damage the structural integrity of your roof, as it can be exposed to the elements, and eventually, it can rust and corrode. If you notice the paint on your Los Angeles County metal roof is worn, contact a metal roofer to schedule a touch-up. A licensed and experienced Beverly Hills, CA roofer will apply a fresh coat of paint, which will not only restore the durability of the structure but will also enhance the curb appeal of your California home.

Beverly Hills is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Located within 5.71 square miles (14.8 km2) and surrounded by the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood, it had a population of 34,109 at the 2010 census and an estimated population of 33,792 in 2019.
The area was settled by Maria Rita Quinteros de Valdez and her husband in 1828. They called their 4,500 acres (18 km2) of property the Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas. In 1854, she sold the ranch to Benjamin Davis Wilson (1811–1878) and Henry Hancock (1822–1883). By the 1880s, the ranch had been subdivided into parcels of 75 acres (0.30 km2) and was being rapidly bought up by Anglos from Los Angeles and the East coast.
Gaspar de Portolá arrived in the area that would later become Beverly Hills on August 3, 1769, traveling along native trails which followed the present-day route of Wilshire Boulevard.Henry Hammel and Andrew H. Denker acquired most of it and used it for farming lima beans. At this point, the area was known as the Hammel and Denker Ranch. By 1888, they were planning to build a town called Morocco on their holdings.

In 1900, Burton E. Green, Charles A. Canfield, Max Whittier, Frank H. Buck, Henry E. Huntington, William G. Kerckhoff, William F. Herrin, W.S. Porter, and Frank H. Balch formed the Amalgamated Oil Company, bought the Hammel and Denker ranch, and began looking for oil. They did not find enough to exploit commercially by the standards of the time, though. In 1906, therefore, they reorganized as the Rodeo Land and Water Company, renamed the property ‘Beverly Hills,’ subdivided it, and began selling lots. The development was named ‘Beverly Hills’ after Beverly Farms in Beverly, Massachusetts (which itself is named after Beverley from beaver-lake, in East Yorkshire, England) and because of the hills in the area.
